Fathom is great, but you might want more
Honestly, Fathom is a respectable choice. It's privacy-focused, straightforward, and gets the job done. If it's working for you, there's nothing wrong with staying put. It's earned its reputation.
But if you've ever wanted to see who's on your site the moment they arrive, Visitors might be worth exploring. We stream events via WebSockets in realtime. When someone lands on your site, you'll see them appear on the globe instantly. No waiting, no refreshing.
Fathom treats every visitor as an anonymous data point. That works for aggregate stats, but you can't see individual journeys or recognize returning users. Visitors lets you optionally identify logged-in users and follow how they move through your site across sessions and devices.
We also built performance tracking from scratch. Core Web Vitals, page load times, and an Experience Score that shows you how your site actually feels to real users. Filter by country, device, browser, or page to pinpoint the issues. Fathom doesn't touch any of this.
The realtime experience is where things really differ. Fathom shows you a visitor count, pages, and referrers. It's not super useful or engaging. Visitors however, renders your live traffic on an interactive 3D globe where you can click individual visitors to see where they're from, what they're viewing, and how engaged they are.
